Music of Sweelinck, J. S. Bach, and C. P. E. Bach
Founded and directed by renowned bass Harry van der Kamp, vocal ensemble Gesualdo Consort Amsterdam has earned its own richly deserved acclaim for performances and recordings that display confident musicality and an engagingly resonant warmth. For their BEMF début, accompanied by the exceptional keyboard artist Alexander Weimann—who will also perform solo—they present an exquisite program spanning the vocal works of the Dutch master Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck to the meticulous Neue Litanei of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and van der Kamp’s own vocal arrangement and completion of Johann Sebastian Bach’s unfinished Contrapunctus XIV from The Art of Fugue.
